NFL 2013: Super Bowl XLVIII Prediction

The biggest game of the year will not disappoint.

Peyton Manning and the Broncos vs. Richard Sherman and the Seahawks. There is no better matchup that the NFL could have asked for. No matter who wins on Sunday, the real winners will be the fans.

A great game is in store and my prediction on who will be walking out of MetLife Stadium with the Lombardi Trophy is below.

Super Bowl XLVIII Prediction

Denver over Seattle: The Seahawks blew out the Broncos, 40-10, back in August during a preseason in game in Seattle, so the Seahawks will win by 30 again on Sunday, right?

Wrong.

That preseason game was played on August 17, 2013, that will have been 141 days ago on Super Bowl Sunday and these are two completely different teams. Peyton Manning had yet to throw for over 5,000-yards and 55 touchdown passes en route to winning NFL MVP. And Richard Sherman had yet to give the most talked about post-game interview in the history of professional sports.

Seattle and Denver have been threw an entire NFL season and are now on the doorstep of making history as Super Bowl XLVIII champions, but only one will be remembered as the winner.

I think outcome of this game will be decided on who wins the battle of number ones. Denver's number one ranked offense versus Seattle's number one ranked defense. If Peyton Manning can expose the LOB -- Legion of Boom aka the Seattle secondary -- then the Broncos will win the Lombardi Trophy. If Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, and Earl Thomas force a couple of Manning turnovers and give the Seahawks offense great field position, then they will win the trophy.

This will be the toughest test the Broncos and Manning have faced all season, but Peyton isn't your average quarterback. I believe that Manning will be ready for anything and everything the Seahawks throw at him -- he has had two weeks to prepare after all.

I picked Denver to win the Super Bowl over Seattle before the season started and it would be stupid of me to go back on the pick now. Broncos 26, Seahawks 23. And Peyton Manning will win his second Super Bowl MVP trophy in the process.

Playoffs: 8-2
Overall: 170-96
