Super Bowl 50 Prediction

The "golden" Super Bowl is upon us and it only seems fitting that one of the greatest players in the history of the game may very well play his final game on Sunday. That player is of course, Peyton Manning.

It's Peyton Manning vs. Cam Newton for the Lombardi Trophy on Sunday.

Peyton has had a luxurious career and he will find himself in Canton as soon as he's eligible. So, can the aging Manning and the best defense in the league stop MVP Cam Newton and the Panthers number one scoring offense?

My prediction is no and here's why.

Carolina over Denver (Sunday, 6:30 p.m. ET, CBS): Well, okay, it's not impossible. I can see Denver winning this game if they can get pressure on Cam Newton. Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware need to have the best games of their careers and hit Newton like the did Tom Brady two weeks ago.

Brady was sacked four times and was hit 17 times against Denver in the AFC Championship, Miller and Ware combined for three of those sacks and 11 of those hits. It was the constant pressure on Brady that helped the Broncos defeated the Patriots and find themselves in the Super Bowl.

As good as the Denver defense is I just don't think they will be able to stop Cam Newton for 60 minutes. Newton is a rare talent, tremendous athleticism, agility, the ability to create plays with his feet and he has an accurate cannon for an arm. This could the be first of several Super Bowls that Cam appears in and Super Bowl 50 will be his first championship. Panthers 29, Broncos 24.

Last Week: 1-1
Playoff Record: 6-4
Overall: 160-106

  1. I agree that Cam Newton is a talented guy. Though I'm not a great fan, I love this guy!
