Week 4 Picks

Can the Chiefs and Falcons stay undefeated?

Will the Bengals, Browns, Chargers, Giants or 49ers get their first win of the season?

How many touches will playmakers like Christian McCaffrey and Jimmy Graham have this week?

My guess is not enough, but as for who will stay undefeated and winless, my predictions for this week's slate of NFL games is below.

Week 4 Picks (Home team in CAPS)

GREEN BAY over Chicago (Thursday, 8:25 p.m. ET, CBS, Amazon Prime): Both the Bears and Packers needed overtime to secure their victories last weekend with the Bears upsetting the Steelers and Aaron Rodgers rallying the Packers from a 21-3 deficit to defeat the Bengals. With it being a short week and the Packers being at home, I'm going with Green Bay. I expect Chicago to give them a game though.

New Orleans over MIAMI (Sunday, 9:30 a.m. ET, from Wembley Stadium in London, Fox): I'm just hoping this is more competitive than last week's game in London. If the NFL wants to build the game globally, especially in Europe, they can't have 44-7 blowouts. This should be a close game and I like Drew Brees and the Saints.

ATLANTA over Buffalo (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, CBS): Falcons are one of two remaining undefeated teams, along with the Chiefs, and I think they'll stay undefeated as they'll beat the Bills on Sunday.

Pittsburgh over BALTIMORE (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, CBS): Ravens had a long flight back from London after their 44-7 loss to the Jaguars and I think it's going to take them a few weeks to recover from that loss and that amount of travel. Steelers get the win in this once fierce rivalry.

Cincinnati over CLEVELAND (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, CBS): Unless there's a tie, the Bengals or Browns will finally get their first win of the season. The Bengals should have at least two wins already this season, but they did play a lot better last week in Green Bay, so that was encouraging to see. Cincinnati has too much talent to start the season 0-4, so I think they win the Battle of Ohio up in Cleveland.

The Rams looked really good in the Color Rush uniforms
last Thursday night against the 49ers.

DALLAS over L.A Rams (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, Fox): This could be one heck of a football game. The Rams offense might be the most improved offense in the league and QB Jared Goff continues to get better. The Cowboys offense, after the first quarter, played well in Arizona last week and this could be a high scoring game. With the Cowboys being at home, I like them in this one, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if the Rams pull the upset.

HOUSTON over Tennessee (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, CBS): Tennessee has looked good the first three weeks, but I really like what the Texans are doing even though they're 1-2. Rookie QB Deshaun Watson played very well last week against the Patriots in New England and that's no easy task. If Watson continues to play well and that defense continues to get after the quarterback, Houston is going to win a lot more games.

MINNESOTA over Detroit (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, Fox): Lions were a few inches from going 3-0 last week, but a Golden Tate touchdown was overturned as he was ruled down prior to getting into the end zone late in the fourth quarter last week against the Falcons. They'll have a tough road game on Sunday going to Minnesota to play a very good Vikings team who dominated the Buccaneers last week without QB Sam Bradford. Bradford probably won't play again this week, but the Vikings defense will shut down the Lions and get the win.

NEW ENGLAND over Carolina (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, Fox): RB Christian McCaffrey had 9 receptions for 101-yards last week, which was nice to finally see, but Carolina's offense is still terrible. They've score just 45 points in three games and QB Cam Newton has been bad with seven turnovers already, including three interceptions last week. New England needed another Tom Brady fourth quarter comeback to beat the Texans, but I expect the Patriots to win easily this week as Newton and the Panthers offense continue to struggle.

Jacksonville over N.Y. JETS (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, CBS): The New York Jets have won a football game. I'm honestly stunned it only took three weeks for them to get their first win. Hard to believe, but they have more wins than their roommates, the New York Giants. A win is a win, but I don't expect a winning streak. Jacksonville embarrassed Baltimore in London last week, 44-7, and I think they'll carry that momentum into Sunday's game and get the win.

ARIZONA over San Francisco (Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET, Fox): Not crazy about the 49ers offense, despite them putting up 39 points last week against the Rams, and the Cardinals are better than their 1-2 record shows. Arizona gets the win.

Philadelphia over L.A. CHARGERS (Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET, Fox): Good news is a solid crowd of 25,386 came out to watch the Chargers game against the Chiefs last week. Bad news is, the Chargers are 0-3. They'll be 0-4 after Sunday's loss to the Eagles, which may mean a decline in attendance is about to begin.

TAMPA BAY over N.Y. Giants (Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET, Fox): Apart from the fourth quarter last Sunday against the Eagles where they scored 24 points, the Giants offense has been terrible this season. No running game whatsoever, questionable play calling, protection issues with the offensive line, it's so bad that I could see head coach Ben McAdoo getting fired before the season is over. I think things continue to get worse as the Giants lose their fourth straight to the Buccaneers in Tampa.

DENVER over Oakland (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, CBS): I was surprised both Denver and Oakland lost last week. The Broncos did not play well in Buffalo and the Raiders managed less than 150-yards of offense in Washington. I still expect the Broncos and Raiders to win a lot of games this season and I think this'll be a close game. Denver has played well at home so far this season and I like their defense to get enough stops against the Raiders offense to get the win.

SEATTLE over Indianapolis (Sunday, 8:30 p.m. ET, NBC): The Seahawks listened to me and got the ball to TE Jimmy Graham seven times for 72-yards last week. About damn time. Problem was their defense gave up 195-yards rushing and 33 points to the Titans and ultimately lost the game. The Colts don't have the firepower on offense that the Titans have, so the Seattle defense should play better. And keep getting the ball to Jimmy Graham!

No one has been able to catch rookie Kareem Hunt this season.

KANSAS CITY over Washington (Monday, 8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN): Great game on Monday night. The Redskins held the Raiders to just 128-yards last Sunday night and they'll have another tough test this week going up against the third ranked offense in the league in the Chiefs. Kansas City has the leagues number one rushing attack behind rookie RB Kareem Hunt and I think they'll win a close game to remain undefeated Monday night.

Last Week: 10-6
Overall: 32-15 (.681)
