NFL: Week 4

Can the Lions and Bills stay undefeated? Will New England, Philadelphia and the NY Jets bounce back after losing last week? How effective will QB Michael Vick be? Are the Colts, Chiefs, Vikings, Rams and Dolphins finally going to win a game this week? How many people will show up to watch Bill/Bengals from Paul Brown Stadium?

The answers and more in my picks for Week 4 in the NFL.

Week 4 (Home team in CAPS)

CHICAGO over Carolina: QB Cam Newton will face his toughest test so far as a rookie, LB Brian Urlacher and the Chicago Bears defense.

Buffalo over CINCINNATI: "Nobody circles the wagons, like the Buffalo Bills." And nobody will be at Paul Brown Stadium to watch this game either. The Bengals season looked so promising after the first week, but as usual, reality set in. Cincinnati hasn't been Buffalo in 10 years and that streak moves to 11 on Sunday.

Tennessee over CLEVELAND: Tennessee may not be able to run the football, 51.7 yards per carry is the worst in the NFL, but they still beat a Browns team whose two wins are against winless Miami and Indianapolis.

Detroit over DALLAS: I'm on the Lions bandwagon and with all the injuries the Cowboys have; Detroit wins their fourth straight game.

Minnesota over KANSAS CITY: Both teams come in a combined 0-6 and despite the Vikings losing double digit leads in all three of their games, they finally hold on to a lead and put one in the win column.

Washington over ST.LOUIS: The Rams have not won a game all season and they won't get their first on Sunday against Washington, as the Redskins get off to a surprising 3-1 start.

PHILADELPHIA over San Francisco: The Eagles are desperate for a win, as they can't afford to start the season 1-3. QB Michael Vick will play despite leaving last week's game with a bruised hand and he should be effective in the Eagles win.

New Orleans over JACKSONVILLE: Drew Brees and the Saints will have no problem with rookie QB Blaine Gabbert and the 1-2 Jaguars.

HOUSTON over Pittsburgh: The Steelers were demolished by the Ravens in week one, defeated a bad Seahawks team in week two and barely got by the winless Colts last week and Peyton Manning didn't even play. Not a very impressive resume for Pittsburgh. Houston has looked very good, especially on offense, and the defense has improved from last year. Texans in a close one at home.

NY Giants over ARIZONA: Eli and the G-Men got by Vick and the Eagles last week and they defeat another former Eagle, QB Kevin Kolb and the Cardinals out west at "The Big Toaster."

Atlanta over SEATTLE: Atlanta has a lot of room for improvement at 1-2 and a trip to Seattle will be just what they need to get them back on track.

GREEN BAY over Denver: Detroit and Buffalo may be undefeated, but Green Bay is still the best and most complete team in football.

New England over OAKLAND: Rex Ryan and the Jets had a rough trip out in Oakland last weekend, but Bill Belichick and Tom Brady won't share the same fate. The Patriots responded to last week's debacle in Buffalo with a win against a very physical Raiders team.

SAN DIEGO over Miami: San Diego defeated the winless Chiefs last week, this week they defeated the winless Dolphins.

BALTIMORE over NY Jets: A lot of defense expected in this one. The Jets are in the second week of a three week road trip that includes trips to Oakland, Baltimore and New England. The Ravens have a slight advantage at home and win 11-8.

TAMPA BAY over Indianapolis: QB Kerry Collins suffered a concussion last week against Pittsburgh, so Curtis Painter will get the start at quarterback for Indianapolis. He's not Peyton Manning and never will be. Tampa Bay, who just knocked off Atlanta, wins on Monday night.

Last week: 10-6
Overall: 33-15
