NFL 2012: Week 5 Picks

School is starting to take its toll on yours truly this week, but nothing can stop me in my quest to beat a special certain someone in picks. I did very well last week, but she's only four back and there are no guarantees in the NFL, so my luck could very well change. Nevertheless, here is who I think will win the games for week five in the NFL season.

Week 5 Picks (Home team in CAPS)

Quarterback Kevin Kolb #4 of the Arizona Cardinals runs out onto the field before the NFL game against the Miami Dolphins at the University of Phoenix Stadium on September 30, 2012 in Glendale, Arizona.

and the Cardinals are just one of three undefeated teams remaining.

Arizona over ST. LOUIS: It hasn't been the prettiest football in the league, but Arizona has gotten it done, one way or another, to be 4-0 a quarter of the way through the season. I'll jump on the bandwagon and take the Cardinals to win again in St. Louis.

Green Bay over INDIANAPOLIS: Aaron Rodgers vs. Andrew Luck. Rodgers and the Packers have the better team, but Indy and Luck will put up a fight.

Baltimore over KANSAS CITY: Baltimore is the second best team in the AFC behind Houston, while Kansas City probably is the second worst. Ravens by more than a touchdown.

MINNESOTA over Tennessee: Still not sure if I'm a believer in the 3-1 Vikings, but seeing how the 49ers have dismantled teams this season, I realize that Minnesota does indeed have a good team because they are the only team to have beaten the might 49ers thus far.

Atlanta over WASHINGTON: RG3 has been money this season, but the Redskins defense is still a big area of concern. Falcons stay undefeated.

NY GIANTS over Cleveland: No explanation needed, Browns stay winless.

PITTSBURGH over Philadelphia: The Steelers are well rested coming off a bye and I expect them to force some Eagle turnovers to get the win in the Battle of the Keystone state.

Seattle over CAROLINA: Tough decision here, but I haven't liked what I've seen from Carolina this season. Seattle's defense is good and I think they stop Cam Newton and the Panthers offense.

Chicago over JACKSONVILLE: As long as Bob Bratkowski is the offensive coordinator in Jacksonville, the Jaguars will continue to struggle on offense.

NEW ENGLAND over Denver: 52 points and 580 total yards against the Bills last week is what fans have been accustom to seeing from Tom Brady and the New England offense in recent years. Peyton Manning vs. Tom Brady is always a great matchup and I like Brady to get the better of Manning and the Broncos on Sunday in Foxborough.

SAN FRANCISCO over Buffalo: Last week the 49ers outscored the Jets by 34 points and the Bills gave up 31 points in the fourth quarter, and 52 for the game against the Patriots. I think I'll take San Francisco.

NEW ORLEANS over San Diego: The Saints have to win eventually and I think they finally do Sunday night as Drew Brees throws at least one touchdown pass to break Johnny Unitas' record of most consecutive games with a TD pass.

Houston over NY JETS: Things could not be worse for the Jets. After getting dump trucked by the 49ers and Darrelle Revis and Santonio Holmes both being lost for the season, the 4-0 Houston Texans visit the Big Apple on Monday Night. Ouch. Expect the Tim Tebow chatter to increase as the Jets continue to struggle.

BENGALS over Dolphins: Things are pretty good in Cincinnati right now as the Reds getting ready to start postseason play on Saturday after winning the division and the Bengals have now won three straight.

The Bengals offense has been very good this season and Andy Dalton and A.J. continue to astound and amaze fans. The defense played much better last week too, but they will be tested this week against Reggie Bush, Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins, who put up 480-yards of offense last week in Arizona.

I expect a high scoring affair, but the Bengals will come out on top and win their fourth straight game. Bengals 30, Dolphins 24.

Byes: Dallas, Detroit, Oakland, Tampa Bay

Last Week: 11-4
Overall: 37-26
