Week 13 Picks

It's December already?

Time sure does fly and it's hard to believe that we are already into Week 13 in the NFL season. With one month to go it's crunch time for many teams in the league and let's jump right into my predictions.

Week 13 Picks (Home team in CAPS)

Dallas over MINNESOTA (Thursday, 8:25 p.m. ET, NBC, NFLN, Twitter): Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer will be absence from tonight's game with after undergoing eye surgery on Wednesday. Not having him on the sidelines won't help the Vikings as they already have a tough job ahead of them in stopping the best team in football. It'll be close, but I like the Cowboys.

Kansas City over ATLANTA (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, CBS): The Chiefs Justin Houston had 10 tackles, three sacks and helped forced a safety in last week's game against the Broncos. If the Falcons can't find a way to stop Houston, they'll in for a long night. The Kansas City defense

Detroit over NEW ORLEANS (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, FOX): Saints blew the Rams out of the water last week and I was very impressed. The Lions defense is not as good as the Rams, so I can only imagine how many points they'll give up. The advantage the Lions have though is they have Matthew Stafford at quarterback and the Rams have rookie Jared Goff. Stafford will be able to put more than 21 points that the Rams were able to score last week. It should be a shoot out and I like the Lions.

NEW ENGLAND over Los Angeles (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, FOX): I know the Saints have one of the best offenses in the league, but I was stunned the Rams defense gave up 49 points and 555-yards of total offense. The Patriots have a terrific offense as well, so we could see more of the same this Sunday. Also, a big "C'mon Man!" to Rams head coach Jeff Fisher. Fisher was on a conference call with reporters this week and was talking about Danny as one of the Patriots running backs. The only Danny on the Patriots offense is WR Danny Amendola and he has zero rushing attempts. Or maybe he was thinking of RB Danny Woodhead. Problem is former Patriot Danny Woodhead is on IR and he currently plays for the Chargers. So, clearly Jeff Fisher has no clue who the Patriots running backs are. Wow.

Denver over JACKSONVILLE (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, CBS): Good luck to the Jaguars on Sunday in stopping Broncos DE Von Miller. Miller recorded 10 tackles, 3 sacks, a pass deflection and had 4 hits on the quarterback. Blake Bortles is going to need an ice pack after all the hits he takes from the Denver defense on Sunday. Broncos get the win rather easily.

GREEN BAY over Houston (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, CBS): Got to give the Packers a lot credit for turning things around and playing much better in Philadelphia on Monday night. The defense finally showed up and QB Aaron Rodgers played very well. If the defense shows up again on Sunday, they'll beat the Texans. Houston QB Brock Osweiler has not been good this season and if the Packers and make his day miserable, Rodgers and the Green Bay offense will put up some points to get the win.

Philadelphia over CINCINNATI (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, FOX): The Bengals woes continued last week in Baltimore and it won't get any easier with the Eagles coming to town this week. Cincinnati has lost three straight, albeit by 10 combined points, but without WR A.J. Green, I think the Bengals will continue to struggle. Eagles in a close one. And I'm predicting Bengals kicker Mike Nugent will miss another PAT for the third week in a row.

Miami over BALTIMORE (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, CBS): The Dolphins are the league's hottest team, apart from the Cowboys, and I like them to win again on Sunday. I wasn't impressed at all watching the Ravens almost lose to the Bengals last weekend. If it weren't for kicker Justin Tucker, the Ravens would not be in first place. Can a kicker win MVP? Tucker makes a good case for it. Anyway, I like the Dolphins on Sunday in Baltimore.

CHICAGO over San Francisco (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, FOX): Two of the worst teams in football will square off in Chicago and I'm taking the Bears. My reasoning? The Bears only two wins have come at home this season and the 49ers are 0-5 on the road. Not a great reason, but I'm sticking to it.

OAKLAND over Buffalo (Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET, CBS): This one might be closer than the experts think. The Bills have been playing much better and the Raiders better be prepared. Oakland almost let Carolina steal one from them last week and I don't think they'll let that happen again this week. Raiders get yet another win.

PITTSBURGH over NY Giants (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX): Too much firepower on the offensive side of the ball of the Steelers for me to pick the Giants in this one. The Giants have won six games in a row, but only one of those teams they beat currently has a winning record, the Ravens. With the Steelers being at home, I think they'll get the win.

Kirk Cousins has put MVP caliber numbers this season.

Washington over ARIZONA (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX): In his last three games, Washington QB Kirk Cousins has thrown for 1,086-yards and 8 TD and 0 INT. In his last three games, Arizona QB Carson Palmer has thrown for 863-yards, 5 TD and 5 INT. Redskins are 2-1 in those three games and the Cardinals are 1-2. Advantage Redskins. Cousins is on fire right now and I look for him to keep the momentum going against the Cardinals.

SAN DIEGO over Tampa Bay (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX)

SEATTLE over Carolina (Sunday, 8:30 p.m. ET, NBC):

Indianapolis over NY JETS (Monday, 8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN): If QB Andrew Lucks plays, the Colts will win. If he isn't cleared for a concussion, the Colts will be in trouble. The Jets gave the Patriots a fight last week, so expect the same this week. Colts in a close one.

Bye: Cleveland, Tennessee

Last Week: 12-4
Overall: 108-69
