NFL 2013: Week 13 Predictions

I was 2-1 on Thanksgiving, so here are the rest of my picks for Week 13.

Week 13 Picks (Home team in CAPS)

CLEVELAND over Jacksonville: A meaningless game and the only reason I'm taking the Browns is because they are at home.

INDIANAPOLIS over Tennessee: Indianapolis is coming off a 40-11 loss to Arizona and they have not played well the last few weeks, but Andrew Luck will get the Colts turned around with a win against the Titans.

Chicago over MINNESOTA: The Bears will win this game, I don't know why, but they will win.

Miami over NY JETS: Both teams are still somehow in the AFC Wild Card picture, but the loser of this one will can just about kiss their playoff chances goodbye. And I think that loser will be the New York Jets.

Arizona over PHILADELPHIA: The Cardinals will win this game for two reasons. First, QB Carson Palmer. Palmer has been outstanding the last four weeks and if he continues to play this way, then the Cardinals will win. Second, the Eagles don't play well at home, a place where they are 1-4 this season. This should be a great game.

CAROLINA over Tampa Bay: Tampa Bay has won three straight and I would be stunned if they made it four straight. Carolina in a close one.

New England over HOUSTON: Texans' WR Andre Johnson said his team sucks and he's right. Patriots by at least a touchdown.

BUFFALO over Atlanta: What was I thinking when I picked the Falcons to go 11-5 and play in the NFC Championship game. Atlanta has been hit hard by injuries and will most likely have a top five draft pick in May. Bills are at home and I think they'll beat the Falcons.

SAN FRANCISCO over St. Louis: This should be a very physical game, but I like the 49ers to win at home.

Denver over KANSAS CITY: If you went to bed last Sunday night with the Broncos leading 24-0, then you were probably surprised when you woke up the next morning. I know I was. Denver blowing a 24-0 lead is baffling, but I think Peyton Manning and the Broncos will get a lead and hang on to it this week in Kansas City. Close game, though.

NY Giants over WASHINGTON: Both teams are having disappointing seasons and both are going to be sitting on the couch come playoff time, but I like the Giants to win this one. The Redskins are really bad and Robert Griffin III just doesn't look like the same quarterback since his knee injury.

SEATTLE over New Orleans: The battle for home-field advantage in the NFC is on. The Saints and Seahawks have the best home-field advantages in the NFL and getting home-field in the playoffs is critical for both teams. Seattle will be at home on Monday night and that will be the difference.

The Bengals will go as far as Andy Dalton will take them.

Bengals over CHARGERS: The Bengals are coming off a much needed by week and now they find themselves with just a 1.5 game lead in the division ahead of the Ravens. Cincinnati will need to continue to play well down the stretch if they are to hold off Baltimore, but it won't be easy. The Bengals have some tough games remaining with the Chargers, Colts, Steelers, Vikings and Ravens. There is no reason Cincinnati can't win the division, but the one player who will have the biggest impact the rest of the way will be none other than QB Andy Dalton. If Andy plays well, the Bengals will win the division with relative ease. If he struggles, then so will the team and winning the division will be that much harder. I think Andy will play today, which means a win for Cincinnati. Bengals 31, Chargers 21.

This Week: 2-1
Last Week: 5-8
Overall: 110-68
