NFL: Week 13

A great weekend of football in store, but with exams coming up I will be spending most of my time this weekend studying and then going to Reds Fest Friday night and all day Saturday. Who knows when I will get my studying in, but I won't be wasting any of my time watching the Bengals lose on Sunday. Actually, probably will be listening to the game, because I doubt it will sell out.

Two of the best games of the year are in primetime this week with the Steelers vs. Ravens Sunday night and Jets vs. Patriots Monday night. Here's who I like in those game and the rest of my Week 13 picks.

Week 13
Philadelphia over Houston: Andre Johnson will be ready to go after his fight last week, but Houston's pass defense is going to have a long day against Michael Vick and the Eagles. A lot of points will be scored in this one.

Chicago over Detroit: The Bears have been playing great football and the Lions are, well, the Lions. Close game though.

Green Bay over San Francisco: The Monday Night Football game between the 49ers and Cardinals was pathetic and one of the worst games I have ever seen. 49ers can't play like that against the Packers. Rodgers has a big day in a win.

Jacksonville over Tennessee: The Titans looked awful last week, not only were they shutout, but Cortland Finnegan was manhandled by Andre Johnson in their fight. Whether it's Kerry Collins or Rusty Smith at quarterback for the Titans, I like the Jaguars to win.

Kansas City over Denver: The Broncos are not very good and I think head coach Josh McDaniels is on the hot seat. His seat gets even hotter as the Broncos fall to the division leader Kansas City Chiefs.

Miami over Cleveland: The Browns have been playing well and RB Peyton Hillis is a human wreaking ball, but the Dolphins have too much talent at the other positions and should win at home.

Minnesota over Buffalo: If the Bills can catch the football they would be on a three game winning streak, but their not after having the ball go threw their hands last week against the Steelers. Vikings win their second game under new coach Leslie Frazier.

NY Giants over Washington: The G-Men need a win to keep pace with the Eagles in the division and I think the beat rival Washington.

San Diego over Oakland: Is there a hotter team in the NFL than the San Diego Chargers? Probably not, so Philip Rivers and the Chargers extended their winning streak to five.

Seattle over Carolina: The sad thing is the Panthers are 1-10, the even sadder thing is the Seahawks are tied for first place in the NFC West at 5-6. It's been that kind of year in the NFL. I'll take Seattle, cause the Panthers are terrible.

Atlanta over Tampa Bay: Atlanta is the most consistent team in football and maybe even the best. They beat the Buccaneers with ease.

St. Louis over Arizona: I like said earlier the MNF game between the 49ers and Cardinals was terrible. QB Derek Anderson's press conference after the game was almost as bad as his play on the field. The Rams are tied with the Seahawks for the division at 5-6 and should win behind Rookie of the Year candidate QB Sam Bradford.

Indianapolis over Dallas: The Cowboys almost one last week, had they held on to the ball. Indy has been hurting with injuries and the inability to run the football and stop the run continues to hurt them. They have been putting too much pressure on #18, Peyton Manning, and he showed that he's only human last week against San Diego. Colts should get some players back this week and I can't see them losing three in a row. Dallas will keep it close though.

Baltimore over Pittsburgh: One of the two great matchups on Sunday and this one is for the lead in the AFC North. Batlimore already beat Pittsburgh earlier this year and would love to sweep the Steelers and have the inside track in the division. The Steelers got by the Bills, by the skin of their teeth, last week and with this one being in Baltimore, I like the Ravens in a defensive struggle like always.

New England over NY Jets: The other great matchup features the top two teams in the AFC, the 9-2 Jets at division foe New England, who are also 9-2. The winner of this game will not only have the lead in the division, but also has a great chance of having home field advantage in the playoffs. Bill Belichick and Tom Brady have had 11 days to prepare for Rex Ryan and the Jets, and I'm sure they have made good use of their time. The Patriots are the better football team in my opinion, no one is playing better than Tom Brady right now, and Brady and the Pats are tough to beat at home. I like the Patriots, in a very close on Monday night in Foxboro.

And...
New Orleans over Cincinnati: The Saints are the defending Super Bowl champions and the Bengals, at this rate, will never be defending Super Bowl champions. The game will probably go as scripted, the Bengals will play well one half and stink in the other. Palmer will throw a costly interception and the defense or special teams makes a critical error that costs the Bengals the football game. Just like every other game this season. Saints win big, as the Bengals lose their 9th straight game and fall to 2-10. Unbelievable.

Last Week: 12-4
Overall: 105-71
