NFL: Week 15 Recap

Finally, win number 3. It took almost three months, but the Bengals finally won a football game, ending a 10 game losing streak. RB Cedric Benson and the offensive line dominated the game and were the main reasons why the Bengals were finally victorious. The line did not allow a sack and opened up big holes for the running game that totaled 188 yards. Carson Palmer did not turn the football over for once and played well enough to help his team win. Even though the game was blacked out, it still was nice to hear them win.

The Bengals are still 3-11, but it sure feels nice to get a win. Games against the San Diego Chargers and Baltimore Ravens remain, so this might be the last win we will see from the Cincinnati Bengals this season. Enjoy the win while you can, but thank you Bengals for an early Christmas present.

"Holy Crap"
San Diego Chargers: In their last two games, the Chargers have outscored their opponents by a combined 65-7. QB Philip Rivers (19/25, 273 yds, 3 TD; QB Rating 150.5) continues to make a strong case for MVP and with one of his best receivers Vincent Jackson (5 rec 112 yds, 3 TD) heating up, San Diego is right in the Chiefs rear view mirror.

CIN-RB Cedric Benson: 31 car, 150 yds, TD. Benson and a best performance by the offensive line all season, lead the way to the Bengals third victory of the season.

PHI-QB Michael Vick: 21/35, 242 yds, 3 TD, INT; QB Rating 97.6; 10 car, 130 yds, TD

PHI-WR DeSean Jackson: 3 rec, 52 yds; 65-yd punt return with 14 seconds left in the game that sealed a come from behind win for the Eagles, who were down 24-3 at halftime, and gave Philadelphia control of the NFC East. "Holy Crap." DeSean Jackson is one of the few home run hitters in the NFL and he showed why on Sunday.

NYG-WR Mario Manningham: 8 rec, 113 yds, 2 TD

BAL-RB Ray Rice: 31 car, 153 yds, TD; 5 rec, 80 yds, TD

Detroit Lions: The Lions finally won a game on the road ending a 26 game road losing streak. The win was their first on the road since Week 7 in 2008.

DAL-TE Jason Witten: 10 rec, 140 yds, TD

TEN-RB Chris Johnson: 24 car, 130 yds, TD

IND-RB Donald Brown: 14 car, 129 yds, TD. The Colts are one of the worst rushing teams in the NFL and to finally get the running game going in a critical game against division rival Jacksonville, with the AFC South crown on the line is worthy of a "Holy Crap."

MIA-WR Brandon Marshall: 11 rec, 106 yds, TD. About time Marshall got a "Holy Crap" in Miami.

Carolina Panthers: They won a football game, only the second of the season, but a wins a win. Rookie QB Jimmy Clausen (13/19, 141 yds, TD; QB Rating 107.6) and RB Jonathan Stewart (27 car, 137 yds) lead the way for the Panthers a win that didn't hurt their draft position. Carolina still holding on to the number one overall pick.

DEN-QB Tim Tebow: In his first NFL start, Tebow played well enough for his team to win, (8/16, 138 yds TD; QB Rating 100.5; 8 car, 78 yds, TD) but too bad Denver has a boat load of other problems.

Oakland Raiders: Not only did they keep their playoff hopes alive by beating Denver, but according to the Elias Sports Bureau, set the record for most points scored against a single opponent (98) in a season since the 1970 merger. "Holy Crap."

GB-QB Matt Flynn: 24/37, 251 yds, 3 TD, INT; QB Rating 100.2. With Aaron Rodgers out with a concussion, many people didn't give the Packers a chance against the Patriots, but Flynn played very well and the Packers shocked everyone by keeping it close. Despite losing the game, I was very impressed by Matt Flynn.

NE-OL Dan Connolly: Probably wondering why and offensive line is getting a "Holy Crap," but when you return a kickoff 71 yards and stiff arm a guy on your way down to the 4 yard line, that's impressive. It was the longest return by an offensive line in NFL history and that record may never be broken.

MIN-QB Brett Favre: 5/7, 63 yds, TD, INT; QB Rating 99.1. Didn't matter what he did on the field, the fact that he played is astonishing. "Holy Crap." Most people thought Favre's career was over and here he is playing in the cold and snow, against the Chicago Bears, when he couldn't even feel his hand a few days ago. Favre drives some people crazy and he does some crazy things, but the guy flat out loves the game. He will do anything to play football and no one has more heart or passion for the game than Brett Favre.

CHI-WR Devin Hester: 2 rec, 23 yds, TD; 64-yd punt return TD and that return broke the NFL record for most kick/punt returns for touchdowns in a career. It was Hester's 14th return and he will have a few more before he's done playing. Why teams continue to kick to him is beyond me.

"C'mon Man"
San Francisco 49ers: It has been a very rough season for the 49ers. Everyone had them winning the division easily and some even had them going to the Super Bowl. Well, after losing to the Chargers 34-7 Thursday night, San Francisco fell to 5-9 and needs to win out if they are going to fulfill those expectations. They also need help from the Rams and Seahawks, but their chances are very slim. I would put the 49ers right behind the Vikings, Cowboys and Bengals for this year's most disappointing teams.

STL-QB Sam Bradford: 21/43, 181 yds, 2 INT; QB Rating 40.9. Bradford did help the Rams playoff chances, but with Seattle losing the woeful NFC West can still be won. "C'mon Man." I wish the Bengals played in the NFC West.

Arizona Cardinals: Lost to the Carolina Panthers who only had one win coming into the game and were eliminated from playoff contention in the terrible NFC Worst, I mean West. The Cardinals are so bad on offense, that if kicker Jay Feely doesn't kick a field goal or run it in, Arizona doesn't score.

Seattle Seahawks: 34-18 loss to the Atlanta Falcons and QB's Matt Hasselbeck and Charlie Whitehurst combined went 18/33, 143 yds, 2 INT; QB Rating 65.4 and 28.9 respectively. Not to worry though because they control their own destiny at 6-8 and can still win the NFC West. Remarkable, but sad.

If you haven't noticed, this week's edition of "C'mon Man" features players and teams all from the same division, the NFC West. I know people are probably tired of hearing about how bad the NFC West is, but it's just unbelievable. Here are a few mind boggling numbers that will have you saying "C'mon Man," about the NFC West. The Rams and Seahawks are tied for the division lead at 6-8, so their is a distinct possibility of a 7-9 team not only winning the division, but hosting a playoff game. The four teams combined record is 21-35, the Patriots and Jets have a combined record of 22-6. Their combined road record is 6-22, while Philadelphia's road record is 6-2. Finally, the Rams, 49ers, Cardinals and Seahawks have been outscored by 300 points. Pretty sad and deserving of another "C'mon Man."

Only two weeks left and a lot of playoff spots still up for grabs. It nice being able to end with a Who-Dey.
